how do i take care of my lawn?

I just bought my first house (last summer) and want to take care of the lawn myself, but i have no idea what to do. i don’t know what tools i need or how to make the grass look nice. it was really nice when we moved in, but now there are brown patches and the color is not good. i am in Massachusetts and would appreciate some info. thanks.

    Well first to have a healthy natural lawn, when you lawn mow it, you should, leave the grass clippings, as a natural fertilizer. You should also water it frequently, but not to much. maby add some flowers to make it look nice!

    Here is a really good link for lawn care. This is an Illinois site, but you have a similar climate.
