Try advertising on craigslist and put up flyer’s on the bulletin boards at local restaurants and coffee shops. Good luck!
I would go to newer developments, there are a lot of houses in a small space. If you can get a lot of small yards you can charge a reasonable amount so more people can afford it. Most of these people are double income familys and would probaby be happy to pay to not have to worry about yard work.

Make up nice page sized posters from your computer and hang them in high traffic places. Grocery stores, restaurants even the laundry mat. Once you get a couple jobs going, those people will brag you up and the word of mouth method will come in to play.
